Inky Paws Challenge | Newton's Nook Designs

I've had the very fun Newton's Nook Designs Cluck set for a while.  I finally inked it up:

I teamed it up with the Hardwood Stencil, I used some modeling paste with it on kraft cardstock.

The tag has been cut from an older Lawn Fawn paper pad [Hello Sunshine], this panel has sun rays.

hello sunshine | Newton's Nook Designs

Last month I picked up the adorable Newton's Nook Designs - Lemon Twist set.  I love all things citrus!  Here's how it inspired me:

The striped panel?  It's actually 1/2 inch strips of Stampin' Up cardstock:

Pumpkin Pie
Daffodil Delight
Bermuda Breeze
Chocolate Chip

I love the MFT Square Peek-A-Boo Window Die-namics.  I use it several times a month.

I used minimal copics:

Y19 | Y19
BG13 | BG15

I ADORE the size of that lemon!  Such fun sentiments too.

New York | Newton's Nook Designs

If you've been following me on FB or IG, you'll have read that I spent a bit of time in NYC.  We celebrated my boy's college graduation!  My trip inspired my project today.

I'm featuring the Newton's Nook Designs -  Newton Dreams of New York.  The (retired) Basic Grey Hey Boy collection is perfect for the New York theme.

I averaged 20k on most days.  A ton of walking and it's my first trip that I solo'd a subway ride...from Brooklyn to Manhattan (patting myself on the back).  If you didn't know, I'm horribly directional impaired and I live in Washington state.  For me to commute from my house to work in the morning it would take 87 minutes to travel 26 miles, our transit system is not so good.  We commute to work together so we have the HOV lanes.

The sentiment has been stamped onto an upcycled coffee sleeve.  Surprisingly, during my last NYC trip I only had coffee at the airport waiting for our trip back AND they only had decaf (gasp).  I was on a big iced black tea kick during this trip.

Color Throwdown | Guest Designer

I'm super excited to have been the Color Throwdown Featured Stamper #541.  Today I get to be the Guest Star Stamper today for the newest Color Throwdown!  Such a fun color trio of Aqua, Green + Grey.

Here's how it inspired me:

I recently picked up the Newton's Nook - Newton Dreams of Paris.  After visiting my boy in Paris a couple of years ago, I'm slowly collecting parisian themed sets.

I stamped them out on Neenah Solar White 110.  They've been stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black and colored with various copics.

The MFT Double Stitched circle has been cut with Reverse Confetti Baby Blue + Avocado cardstock.  I trimmed the Avocado panel to a grassy hill.  I stamped the Eiffel Tower directly onto that panel in black.  The cloud is from the Reverse Confetti Cool Friends set.

This has been my go-to card sketch.  I've been enjoying making sweet images the star of the show.

I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

Feeling Slothy | Newton's Nook Designs

I've been wanting to combine Newton's Nook Designs Slothy Coffee + Cuppa Cactus, so here's how I was inspired:

That sloth is so cute, eh?  Love how the coordinating die cuts in the interior of the mug handle too.  I had tons of fun coloring this card.  I haven't colored in a bit.  It makes it easier for me to works with a handful of colors throughout the entire design.

I'm not much of a navy girl in terms of coloring but love the dramatic pops that it adds to the design.

Here's my project for today's hop!

Oh my goodness...I knew I had to combine the ultra adorable Llama Delivery with Cup Of Cocoa!  The sweet llama has been stamped and copic colored.  The mug was stamped, copic colored and then die cut and adhered to the top of the stack 'o gifts.  I was going to mask but meh, I didn't have to.

Pink + Green = Yes, Please!

Oh yes, that strip of patterned paper has LLAMAS on it...eep.  How could I resist?  Thanks to my friend Jen Shears for picking up that paper pad for me!  I love it so much that I was thrilled when my friend Kerry McDaniel said she found it for me too!

In case you missed me on the Newton's Nook Designs blog on Monday, here's a peek at just some my projects:

Guest Designer: Newton's Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws!

Hello and Happy Monday!  I'm so thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Newton's Nook Designs.  I'm up on their blog sharing a card set featuring the new Cup of Cocoa stamp set + coordinating dies!

I was actually crazy crafting and managed to whip up 4 cards just for today, here's a sneak peek at 2 of them:

Have you seen the Holiday Foliage Stencil?  Oh my, it's a beauty!  I inked it up with Distress Oxide Walnut Stain on top of texty pattern paper.  I backed it with a dark brown wood grain paper.  To not cover up the gorgeous pattern, I used a vellum envelope to slip in a gift card.

I topped that off with images and sentiments from the Cup Of Cocoa set.

I'd love it if you'd hop over to the Newton's Nook Designs blog to check out my other projects!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Day Two!

Today is Day two of the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  What is that?  It's a quarterly hop that follows the seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter + Spring).  That also determines the theme of your projects.  Make sure you check out the hop post HERE.  There are 77 Super Sponsors!  To be eligible for any of the prizes upload a newly created Summer themed project that includes coffee, tea and/or cocoa!

Have you seen the latest release from Super Sponsor Newton's Nook?  My card uses their Cuppa Cactus stamps + coordinating dies.  Oh this is an ADORABLE set!  I love the sentiment that I used today...cracks me up!

The cute floral paper is from Close to my Heart, their Prickly Pear Collection.  There are CUTE cactus in that paper pack.  CTMH - Chris Franco is also a Super Sponsor for the Summer Hop.

My card was inspired by the Paper Craft Crew Sketch:

I can't wait to hop around and be inspired!

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Final Day!

I can't believe it, today is the final day of the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  As I type out this post, there are 748 linkies!  This Paper Crafting Community is awesome...both the Sponsors + all the Paper Crafters!

Chaitali, my partner in crime coffee, reminded me that yesterday (National Coffee Day) it was 2 years ago when we had our very first hop!  2 years?!  WOW.

It's truly a labor of coffee love...all the logistics and communication...all the work is so worth it because everyone enjoys it as much as I do!

So I give you my final card for the hop:

So, I might have a 'couple' coffee, tea + cocoa sets/products.  It tends to grow a lot during the hop...I'm easily enabled and with so much fantastic inspiration...how can I resist?

So today's card uses Super Sponsor Newton's Nook  - Falling for You, available at Super Sponsor The Heart Desires!  I did some masking, I combined Ken Oliver Color Bursts and Zig Clean Color Markers.

The paper is by Simple Stories and the Scallop Frame dies are from Pretty Pink Posh - another Super Sponsor!

My card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches:

Have you linked up yet?!  Remember we have some awesome FLASH prizes...to be able for today's wave, you'll need to upload your project by 5 pm pacific!

3 Year Anniversary Blog hop with Newton's Nook Designs!

I'm thrilled to be celebrating with Newton's Nook Designs!  They're celebrating 3 years and their July Release with a blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the awesome Jennifer Ingle's blog!  If not, you'll want to start at the Newton's Nook Designs blog!  You'll want to hop and leave comments along the way, more information about that at the bottom of my post!  Let's get started!!!

Here's a peek at the projects I made especially for today:

First up is a card that uses the Pineapple Delight set:

I used a couple of the Hero Arts Ombre ink pads:

lilac to grape  •  butter to orange  •  pink to red

It makes for a fun effect, doesn't it?  I masked the middle pineapple.  I super adore the sentiment and the font!

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches:

Next up is a sweet tea card:

The new Freshly Squeezed set is chock full of fun images but I went ahead and featured the Sweet Tea image and sentiment.  My brother and sister-in-law live in North Carolina so I've had the opportunity to have Sweet Tea!  It's delish!

I wanted to share a close up shot, not so you can see my messy watercoloring, but to see the 'sugar' on the lemon and the glossy accents on the ice cubes!

The entire new release is available now!  There's a FREE mini thank you stamp set for the first 100 orders this weekend!

Celebrate with Newton's Nook Designs for a chance to win!
