friend forever...

Monday...Monday...

Today's card is based on
Card Patterns sketch #30.

Guess what I played with? Yuppers, my newest
PTI order!!! I've been loving all the fabulous In Bloom cards so I finally broke down and ordered it. I also did something that I told myself I wouldn't do....get "caught up" in the luscious PTI papers...oy vey. I knew I shouldn't have done it...but how can I resist the gorgeous Aqua Mist? If a "certain company" would bring back a "certain color" {hello peeps...it's Cool Caribbean!!}....okay, sorry about that....

Back to my card...I had different ideas of how I was going to do the ribbon treatment but ended up just zig zagging it onto the Speckletone Kraft. The 'forever' is from the Friends 'Til the End set...The bloom is 3 layers on dimensionals....LOVE that look.

I know that there are a TON of you PTI lovin' gals...I hope that you think I've done the In Bloom set justice...soooo much inspiration out there for that particular set that it is quite overwhelming. When I get that way, I fall back on the clean & crisp.

Have a super week!!!

Jenni.

I can't believe we are starting a new week already! Pretty soon it is going to be September....September peeps....wow.

What a fun sketch.....I decided to use Jenni Bowlin's 4x4's....perfect size for my 4.25 inch square card!

I hope that you'll join us in today's 365 Cards sketch challenge, I look forward to seeing your creations!!!!!!

hoot....

Well, today I'm combining Laura's sketch 33 {Happy Belated Birthday!!!} and Design Team work for The Cutting Cafe and My Cute Stamps!!!

I think it is only appropriate that I end the week with October Afternoon papers...this will be the 4th time this week that I've posted a project with their papers! The funny thing is that the papers aren't new to me...I've had them...that's a good thing, using the ole stash.

Isn't that owl adorable? It is from the
Forest Friends set....LOVE it!!! I stamped the owl on the October Afternoon text paper. I also stamped it on the Speckletone Kraft and cut out the owl which I then put on dimensionals. Make sure you check out the other My Cute Stamps DT...they've been posting some cute stuff this week!!!!

Everything is nestled onto Regina's Frame shaped card. It is such a versatile shape...I'm always drawn to her shaped cards...great fun!!!!

okay peeps....I'm actually typing this up late'ish on Friday night and let me tell you I'm NO night owl {hahaha...}

On an unrelated side note {although still crafty...}, I'm trying to get my hands on some PTI Pure Poppy buttons...does anyone know of someone perhaps doing a PTI button share?

Remember to check back on Sunday for 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!!

shabby parisian

Hey, it's my day over on the 365 Cards blog!

Pam's Challenge:

Use a vintage image on your card

I love the look of vintage/shabby chic but usually fall back on clean & crisp or fun & funky. I dug deep into my stash and found some vintage inspired stickers that are for bottle caps...I filled the cap up with Stampin' Up Crystal Effects.
It seems that I have been on a huge October Afternoon Cherry Hill kick....LOVE that stuff. The big stamped image is another Jennifer Pebbles' garage sale find last year....I stitched and shabbied the October Afternoon panel.

I know that you 365 Cards gals are going to rock this challenge!

Okay, what is a paper artist to do when someone requests a last minute card and you don't have any of your supplies? I picked up an Amy Butler Lotus Card Kit and was literally able to put together a decent card with a pair of scissors {to cut out the rub on} and some glue dots...seriously...I'm keeping the rest of the kit at work in my desk, just in case :)

Friendly Owl...

Hello!

I'm back with this week's
SFYTT!

It has been awhile since I've used my Friendly Forest stash'ola so I used that along with PTI Buttons and Kaiser pearls. Every panel has stitching on it...I tell you, I'm been going crazy on the Janome....perhaps one day I might be able to sew fabric together...LOL.

I just can't get enough of owls....

hb2u

Hello!!!

I finally made it over to Caardvarks for their current challenge:

black, white & hot pink

Now how fun is that? I dehoarded some Prima paper that I actually bought from the fabbie Jennifer Pebbles' garage sale last year...you can't tell in the picture but I stitched all around the Prima panel. I made my lollipop flower out of Stampin' Up Pink Passion. I used my Art Glitter adhesive glue and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on the edges.
You gotta love the PTI vintage button variety...there is a perfect button to be found, everytime. I slapped on my favorite Thickers...vinyl.

Thanks for stoppin' by!!!!

colorful and lively

Monday, already?!!!

Where does the weekend go??? I had a fun weekend though...had Ethiopian food with the girls on Friday {we are always howling when we get together!!}, I spent Saturday crafting...Sunday is quality time with the man...gotta love that...we saw The Time Traveler's Wife...oy vey...loved it...cried like a baby {what's new}.

Okay, on to my project...I used Card Pattern CP29 and Use It no.24 for my project. I was thrilled to see that the magnificent Regina is the sponsor over there this week {woo hooo Regina!}. Anyways, I put together a little giftie using a $ spot magnetic note pad. I based everything off of that...I was having a heck of a time photog'ing it because of the height, that's why I did the au'natural outdoor photo shoot.

Use it recipe:

Make a cute paper gift: covered notepad

bling it up: I used pearls

Add a tag: gotta love that sentiment...colorful and lively

Cut out some flowers: do you see it? I made a lollipop flower and stacked a Jillibean soup felt flower on top of it.

Tie it up: I used the white Stampin' Up twill

I had a fun time putting this little project together...the cover is actually 2 separate panels since they are 9 inches tall...I cut each panel 9.25 inches and scored it at 9 inches leaving me 1/4 inch for the width of the notepad...am I explaining this? I used red liner tape and adhered the 1/4 inches together and made the cover...easy smeasy.

The pattern paper is my favorite by October Afternoon...I actually broke out my OA stamps and used that sweet deer...I used kaiser craft pearls on her back & the jillibean flower :) The Flourishes are from my chippie stash and I think the quote is KI memories. I stitched around the OA panel...I've been really into stitching on everything these days but I'm horribly lazy...that's why you only see white stitching...I never change out the thread on my janome..

P.S.
I've become a huge Tina fan of travelingmama...not only is she a wonderful artist & writer, she has ventured to make a true difference in her community. If you haven't read her story, pop on over to her A tale of a school blog post....you won't be sorry. I'm a lucky duck because I'm the proud new owner of this fabbie print.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

pocket full of sunshine...

I had a ton of fun with Pam's sketch today....doesn't my card remind you of jeans from the early 80's? It's funny, I just missed my 25th high school reunion, it was the weekend I was on vaca {are you doing the math? Forget about it...I'm 29!}. My friend went and we were checking out the photo's...amazing how some people still look the same and well, some don't. 'M' and I have been friends since 7th grade...that makes it...over 30 years...sheesh, I feel old...

How are YOU inspired by the sketch? Link up your card at the 365 Cards blog...I love being inspired by what you do...

Have a super week peeps!

lemonade....

Happy Saturday!!!!

Today I've combined
Kazan's sketch 33 and some new Cutting Cafe printable stamps!

Lemons...you gotta love their tart flavor...typing about tarts...that would be my favorite dessert...Lemon Tart...Mmmmm...anywho's, Regina has come out with a fabbie
For the Love of Lemons Printable Stamp Set.

Don't you love the sentiment? I nestled the Lemon printable stamp onto a Webster's Pages panel...love, love, love their stuff. I only break it out when I know that I can get away with minimal cutting. I finished off the front of the card with Kaiser Craft pearls and SU twill. I even kind of decorated the interior of this card. I don't usually do that...it is the true laziness in me but I started off with just the lemon image and then decided against it for the front of the card...I saw it sitting on my work top and decided to slap it on the inside.

blog candy alert

Okay, here's the good news...Regina is letting me give away the For the Love of Lemons Printable Stamp set!!! I'll leave the commenting open for the blog candy until midnite PDT tonight and announce the winner on Sunday morning. Just leave me a comment, nothing to it...easy smeasy lemon squeezy...LOL..I crack me up!

fun in the sun

TGIF!!!!!

Seriously.....TGIF! I managed to make it through my first week back to work after being out on vacation. Whew...it's hard to go without that 'ole afternoon nap :)

Okay, let's get going here...can you believe it is already Get Sketchy #2???!!!!! This week's sponsor is none other than Regina of The Cutting Cafe!!! Okay, so I might be a smidge partial to the fantabulous Regina :) but bottom line, her stuff ROCKS!!!

Today's card uses The Cutting Cafe's Sweet Stuff printable stamp and also her Summer Word Circle. How do you like those Popsicle sticks? I have so many of those from my various rub on packages from Basic Grey etc! I drenched the popsicles in SU Dazzling Diamonds...who doesn't love glitter?!!! There is also a smidge of glitter around the summer word circle. The paper and chippie is KI Memories...can you believe that next week is leading up to the end of August? Where has the summer gone? GS#2 Bonus Challenge is to use a punch...I used my 1 inch circle punch:)

The winner of this Get Sketchy Challenge will win 3 Digital Stamp Sets from The Cutting Cafe!

I hope that you can join us over at Get Sketchy! We'd love to see ya!!!

sew cool!

Can you believe that it is Thursday already????!!!!!

Sheesh, I'm trying to change from vaca to regular mode...but I'm drowning in laundry and a messy house with suitcases all over the place...I did manage to make 2 cards last night though. Here is my 365 Cards design.

Pam's Challenge:

Mixed Messages

Incorporate THREE ways to create a sentiment to make one big sentiment.

Mix and Match things like stamped, alpha stickers, handwritten, computer generated, transfers, etc.

I used metal, glitter alpha and tiny alpha stickers...I'm being a rebel {Oh Gloria!!} and justifying that the glitter alpha is definitely different than the tiny alpha sticker...you gals okay with that? Oh Kaydo you recognize that oh-so-gorgeous satin ribbon??!!! Yuppers....it's the goods you so kindly RAK'd me....Thanks my dear!!!!!!

I decided to multi-task and use October Afternoon's Challenge of using their products and a pun and I used Sketch Girl SG3. I've been out of the creative loop for a week and craving challenges!! For those that have been following me, I have a hard time combining 2 challenges and check it out...I managed 3 {patting myself on my back!}. Good Grief, I don't know how some of you gals manage to do 9...I think I've seen 12 before {shaking my head}, that's craziness.

Okay, you know the way this works....show me what you got! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!! That Pam certainly has us on our creative tippy toes, doesn't she??

Mackenzie Mae Card Kit...

Have you popped over to Pam's Mac Mae Card Kit's site lately???

I thought I would share some of the cards that I designed for the August kit.

This is an easy smeasy one...just stitched the Cosmo Cricket onto the yellow card...
Okay, I'm pretty proud of myself on this one...see that kraft panel? It is actually the packaging that comes with the Mac Mae Card kit!!! It is a 3x3 card so that bloom really makes quite the impact.
Ahhhh....Sassrass goodness...I absolutely adore the stuff...can't go wrong with Sassy!!!
I did some stitching on this one and added the buttons to dress up the card...super clean and crisp!

Pam is actually running a sale right now on...yuppers....the best four letter word...

SALE

Go check it out!!!

you've been so kind...

Yup, I finally inked up my new Everyday Button Bits! I literally stamped this before I left for vaca last week...when I was waiting for our chauffeur {Hey 'd'!!}. It's all I managed to do but I love how it turned out.

My base is a fabriano card. The buttons are by foof-a-la, the pearls are kaiser and the bling is too.

Super easy smeasy clean & crisp!!!

You're Tweet!

Happy Monday!!

Okay, happy is pushing it as it is my 1st day back to work after being out for a glorious week. Hey, don't get me wrong, in this economy I'm super thankful that I have a job....it's just a challenge getting into work mode when you get back from vaca.

So, this is going to be a super quick post since I'm actually typing this up on Sunday evening and I'm beat'ola...we just got home around 7 pm and I have the washer and dryer running :) I decided to slam together a quick Cosmo Cricket card to get my mojo running for the week :)

This is for the Card Patterns sketch #28. What a super versatile sketch...fun stuff!!! All the patterned papers are Early Bird...even did a smidge of sewing! The striped grosgrain is from Stampin' Up {last holiday season}.

Okay, short & sweet....have a super week and I'm looking forward to blurfing!!!

poppy

Happy Sunday!!!

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!!

Pam initially had me absolutely stumped with her fancy smancy sketch. I ended up jumping in with both feet and came up with this "poppy" card....why poppy? I recently discovered the oh-so-sweet images by Poppy Stamps. It is a venture by Memory Box, a local Washingtonian company. I used Pink Paislee to paper piece the darling "peggy polka dot". I stamped peggy on a fabriano scrap and then finished off the oval scallop with dots using my Marvy Twinklette pen.

I can't wait to see your take on today's sketch!

Although it may not have seemed like it...I was out there in blogland last week...mostly lurking...why just lurking??

The kids and I were in fabulous Hawaii!!!!

Yes, we were there when there were threats of tropical storms...no, we didn't have any but sheesh it was humid. Most of the time there was constant drizzling which we actually thought was quite refreshing :) Thanks to my friend "I" who took some days off from work to play with us!!! We actually travelled with my friend "J" and her boy. The kids have known each other since they were literally babies and get along well.

I was hoping to meet up with some of the Hawaiian bloggers but when we weren't walking, touring or doing something else I was napping...I blame the humidity..LOL. Hey, it's vaca...

Anyways, I'll be back in full blogging mode tomorrow...I've missed you all!!

a flower for you....

Happy Saturday!

Regina of the Cutting Cafe recently came out with a ton of new stuff. I always fall for her shaped cards...love them! This is the
Flower Shaped Card...isn't it darling?

Here's the beauty of her cutting files...I print them out on my cardstock...for the flower I used Speckletone Kraft. I then run them through the printer again with the patterned paper of my choice lightly taped on top of the original printed image. What I'm able to do is use my never ending supply of scraps, it's fabulous!

Today's flower uses some vintage K & Co. I topped off the flower with double decker American Crafts felt flowers, a Making Memories button and twine from SU.

I hope that you are having a fabbie weekend...I am :) Tomorrow I'll be back with my 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday project. Hmmm....I may have used one of these sweet images....

from you know whoo

Today is the first Get Sketchy Challenge sponsored by Crop Suey!!!!

Check out GS#1 sketch...isn't it fabulous? A big woot woot to Dora!

You're not surprised that my card has an owlie on it, are you?!!! Well, I wanted to do a huge shout out to Piali!! She was a huge sweetie pie for sending me this adorable stamp set by Sandylion. Piali also sent me the most fabbie card too...I'll share that next week :)

I decided to paper piece the owl's belly with some Stampin' Up Ginger Blossom dp. You probably can't tell by the photos but I did use my glittery black Marvy Twinklette pen on her eyeliner..a gal has to have glittery eyeliner :)

All the patterned paper is Jillibean...the white rub on is Basic Grey. I had such fun with this sketch!

I hope that you'll join us in Get Sketchy's first challenge!! You gotta check out the other DT member's take on the challenge....I love this group of gals. Everyone's take is sooo different AND gorgeous!!!

P.S. I've been kind of quiet out there in blog comment land...more on that later but just wanted to let you know that I'm mostly lurking this week :)

I'm a happy chicklet...

Check it out:

a note for you...

Today is day 5 of Art Glitter week over at 365 Cards!

Pam's Challenge:

Ingredients:

4 x 7 inch card
5 blossoms
glitter
wet embossed sentiment
3 different patterned papers

That Pam....she actually got me to remember where I stashed my heat gun...sheesh, it has been literally years since I last used it. I know some of you gals are heat embossing regulars....me? Not so much....It's funny, when I first started stamping, that's all I ever did...embossed EVERYTHING...

Are you wondering where the glitter is? Check out the vine detail on the Urban Prairie paper..I tell you, the Art Glitter rocks and the metal tip is FABulous!

Aha....you're thinking it is a naked button, aren't you? It isn't, I layered black Kaiser rhinestones on the button...4 rhinestones actually...

I hope that you'll play with me today!!! I can't wait to see what you create!!

Please check back tomorrow...I'll be interrupting my Glitter week with my first Get Sketchy project! Brace yourself for a fabbie sketch and a bonus challenge!

hitch your wagon to a star...

Today is day 4 of Art Glitter Week at 365 Cards!

Pam's Challenge:

Shape Up!

Make the dominant shape on your card a star, and give it some sparkle by adding glitter.

The chipboard stars are Stampin' Up and so is the Top Note Die....I still love that thing :) I found the quote which was part of a bigger sheet of quotes...maybe it is KI Memories?

I tell you, I love glitter so this has been a very fun week for me. I wanted to thank Art Glitter for supplying the Design Team with some goodies to play with....

Well, what a fabbie surprise!!!!
I received a wonderful email from Tina {hey sista!!}, who is a Scrapbook News and Review Staffer (and also on the Paper Make Up Stamps & Queen Kat Designs DT). I received the SNR "This Blog Rocks" Award...I'm honored and thrilled!!!

What a fun award and check out how gorgeous it is too!!!! I'm flattered...I truly enjoy blogging, inspiring and BEING inspired by others...

Thanks sooo much Scrapbook News and Review!!

summertime

Today is Day 2 of Art Glitter Week at 365 Cards!

Pam's issued a Color Challenge..thank goodness for Cosmo Cricket! Whew! I finished off my card with a whole lotta gold glitter around the edge... Sorry for the funky photog, I wasn't having any luck lightening up the photo...

Hope that you'll join in on the fun!!!

Fleur

This is Day 2 of Art Glitter week over at 365 Cards!

Pam's Challenge:

Try a technique: masking

I love this technique but don't do it very often because sometimes it can be labor intensive. What I do is stamp the image on a sticky note and fussy cut it out. I'll go ahead and stamp the image onto my cardstock and then lay the sticky note on top of it...for instance, I did that with the PTI Flower. Then I stamped the leaves right on top of the sticky note...peeled it back and there you have it :) I went crazy with the black glitter...love the stuff. The double faced satin ribbon is ala Paper Source.
