happy 12th birthday...

I caught on Charlene's blog that it is Hunter Renz's birthday on December 1st.  I typically do all my crafting on the weekend but last night I put together this card for Hunter:

I hope he doesn't think that the scallops make it girlie {I seriously struggle with Dude cards!}...Why yes, I did zig zag all around that round panel:)

I was inspired by the latest Mojo sketch:

I'm hoping that YOU might be able to send Hunter a birthday greeting....let's flood him with tons of happy mail!!!!

not my gumdrop buttons...

I'm still using my Christmas stash...

remember the American Crafts Flair?

I dehoarded some:)

Can you believe that it is the last week of Jingle Belles?!  I've been meaning to count my stash...I have them on my "To Do" list...write up my Christmas Cards today:)

Here's the prompt:
The theme for this week's prompt is Candy Kisses ... We're asking you to create a card featuring holiday food, drink or candy ... maybe for you it's gingerbread ... candy canes ... or cookies & hot cocoa ... whatever foods mean Christmas for you.

I'm patting myself on the back for my sentiment:)  I googled Gingerbread quotes and the one I used popped up:)  Gotta love Shrek:)

A ginormous shout out for Stephanie and Lauren of Jingle Belles...I managed to play in a majority of the challenges...next year I'll strive to participate in ALL of them:)

I was inspired by the latest sketchy thursdays:

rustic happy holidays...

I'm on a Christmas card streak:

So do you see that big round ivory panel?  That is felt...thick felt that has been made into an ornament.  I embellished it with a Making Memories Rosette and an adhesive tag by Echo Park Paper.  I haven't bought anything new for the holidays so I'm happy to say that all the paper is ala scraps...something that I don't tend to do.  I recycle all my scraps to my friend Laurel.  She truly appreciates them and I'm just glad they get used.

Speaking of scraps, there are a couple challenges out there to create Christmas Cards with scraps:

Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge Badge

It's my first time playing at SOS, here's the challenge:

We are asking you to create something related to Christmas OR Winter- super easy!

Also, Crafty Contagion has a fun challenge:

LEFTOVERS!
Hopefully you have some stored up in your refrigerator after Thursday's feast, but on a card - use some scraps!

My design was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger:

I was inspired by:

various shades of red
wood tones
textures

Anybody planning on going?!  I'll be shopping on Saturday morning!  Let me know if you plan on going!!!!

Can you see the holographic embossed snowflakes?

Check out the fun Card Patterns sketch:

I was also inspired by the latest CR84FN challenge:

I wanted to share some pics I took on Wednesday, November 23rd.  I worked 6 am - 10:15'ish that day...drove 30 miles home to pick up my boy and his 3 friends.

We took the Link Light Rail to Seattle..

My first stop was Nordstrom...gotta love the Jonathan Adler display:

I took the skybridge to Westlake Center:

I had a delish lunch at Pike Place Chowder:

I borrowed Darin's iPad and did some quality blurfing:

Stopped in at Papyrus and loved this display of charms:

Yup, the focus of that picture is the Coffee Queen charm:)

We left downtown around 3:45 via the Link Light Rail and probably rolled into the driveway around 6 pm {dropped off the friends, hit the grocery store}....I was thoroughly exhausted but when the boy says to me:  That was a fun day!

It was all worth it:)

Thanks for hanging in there with me for all those that made it to the end...I'm trying to be better about journaling my everyday type happenings....

thanks so much...

So, how was your turkey day?  I hope filled with good food and good peeps!

I just might be Black Friday shopping as this posts at midnite....we'll see if I was able to crawl out of bed:)

I'm super pleased with my card for today...

That poinsettia and polka dots have sat un-inked for much too long...I picked them up at the A Muse Warehouse Sale {ugh, I just checked...I went to JULY!} and finally put them to use.

inks:  Memento Pear Tart & Rose Bud

I'm using my upcycled notecards again...they were going to end up in the recycle if the gal at work didn't rescue them...

I was inspired by the gals over at CASE Study:

I love CASE Study

Check out Kryssi's FAB card:

I tweeked the design a smidge...the bigger polka dots don't do well on the tone on tone stamping...lesson learned so I decided to make my version a more color filled design:)

Kryssi has been such a great pick over at CASE Study...I do so love her fun style.

Check out the fun Black Friday sale over at EAD Designs!

warm wishes...the seattle way.

Happy Tuesday which is kind of my Friday:)

I'm taking tomorrow and the following monday off from work {woo hoo for mega long weekend!}....but tomorrow I might be going on a field trip with my boy and his friends into Seattle so while they are doing their thing, I'll probably go into work for a couple of hours...we'll see how things end up...you know how kids are.

I have a fun 'winter theme' card ala Seattle style:

Can you believe that it has taken me this long to ink up that fabulous Paper Smooches Hot Concoctions?!!!  Well, you'll be seeing it alot from now on:)  The 'warm wishes' sentiment is from EAD Designs, it is a co-branding Paper Smooches Christmas Sentiments Stickerz.

My card design is based on the current Case Study

I love CASE Study

Check out the fabbie Kryssi Ng's card:

She's such a rockstar!

I was inspired by the text background.  I used the placement of the buildings for the coffee to-go cups:)  I  used a doily on top and added my sentiment...wish there was enough room to stamp out:

peace, love & coffee

I'm also playing along with the jingle belles.  I simply cannot believe this is week 47 of 48 weeks....oy vey.  That means it is almost December peeps....whoa...scary.

This week's prompt:

make a card for your friends or family who don't necessarily celebrate christmas

I'm pretty sure everyone should celebrate coffee...

Can you tell that I'm super glad to have found my Echo Park For the Record?!  All the patterned paper is from that collection.

thanks for stoppin' by!!!

Hello and Welcome to the EAD Designs Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the oh-so-lovely Liz's blog:  Liz's Paper Loft

If not, you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop which is the EAD Designs Blog!  Remember a random commenter that leaves comments on all the blogs in the hop, including the EAD Designs blog will win free vinyl!

Check out my card for today...

See that white panel?  It actually started off as a plain 5x5 folded notecard. I received a bunch of them from a FAB gal at work...she knows about my lil addiction and thought of me...now how sweet is that {I even scored 5x5 envies!}?

It was embossed with the company name {on the upper left hand side} which I creatively trimmed and covered {the white base is now 4.5 x 4.5}.  I embossed the front panel with one of my favorite Quickutz embossing folders and backed the folded notecard with the yellow October Afternoon panel.  All the patterned paper is October Afternoon and the green cardstock is Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi {embossed with the same QK folder as the base...and then I slightly aged it with PTI Fresh Snow}.  You know me, I had to fit in at least a smidge of stitching:)

Did you notice the title of today's blog post?

inspired by...

I'm constantly slammed with inspiration out there in bloggie land.  What I typically do is pop images into an inspiration folder and well, forget about them.  So, I'm trying to do a new thing for me...I'm actually going to work with the inspiration piece and do 'my take' on their project.  Today's card is brought to you by THIS gorgeous creation by the fantabulous Melissa Phillips.  I literally gasped when I saw her card...it just was so very WOW...the contrast between the stark white and the rich colors running along the side.  The sweet tag as the sentiment and the  layered blooms....My take is very me...the fun colors instead of the rich colors...the pop from the Maya Road wood Bingo piece:)

My colors were inspired by the current EAD Designs Color Challenge:

I managed to use one of the sweet tags from the coordinating EAD Designs Funky Christmas Tags Stickerz:

Remember that everybody that plays with the EAD Designs Color Challenge is a winner:

The lucky peep that wins the color challenge will also be our December Guest Designer!

Don't forget about November's Steal:
