PNW Birthday Buddies - Birthday Blog Hop - Happy Birthday Laura!

I'm happily a part of a group of friends that are all from the Pacific Northwest that celebrate each other birthdays!  Today we're celebrating the lovely Laura Norris:  You should have arrived here from the awesome Toni's blog!  If not, start at the beginning which is the Birthday Hostess with the Mostess, Tonya!

I decided to do a tropical theme birthday card for Laura.  She was just recently in Hawaii and who doesn't love Hawaii?

I combined the Essentials by Ellen - Stay Golden with My Favorite Things - Polynesian Paradise.  I love that sentiment from the Stay Golden set.  Do you spy her Golden Pineapple crown?  It's been stamped in Delicata Gold.

Here's the interior, a sentiment from the Polynesian Paradise set:

So Laura and I are weekly walking buddies!  That sentiment is perfect-o!

Laura, I hope you're enjoying the most fabulous Birthday Weekend.  You are the sweetest friend!

My card was inspired by the Ellen Hutson LLC Pin-Sights Challenge:

I was inspired by the colors and the block with the pink + yellow reminded me of tropical goodness!

Next up is the lovely Lisa Lara!

Here's the full listing in case you get lost along the way:

happy things!

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I started this card yesterday and finished it up this morning.  I have so many paper collections, this one is Basic Grey - Paper Cottage.  Pure scrappy card, no stamping:

Isn't that die cut sticker so much fun?!  Love the fantastic colors....

I was inspired by Kerry's Sip and Share challenge over on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day in the PNW!  We took advantage of the gorgeous weather and took a quick flight to Friday Harbor and had dinner.  So fun!

Hero Arts: Cup of Cheer

Hello, we've been enjoying warmer weather in the pacific northwest!  It's always such a treat for us but I have to admit our last couple of summers have been a smidge too warm for me.

I decided to play with the Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Succulents set:

I used the Coffee Cup Tag Frame Cuts for my 'vase'.   I love the combo of the Floral Mix Layering Papers with the greens.  The succulents have been colored with Copics.  One of my favorite combos:

YG03 + YG25

Do you spy the bit of BV02 on the larger succulent?  It's very subtle but in real life it's a nice addition.  I used the Coffee Cup Tag Frame Cuts on the Starbucks sleeve and just shortened it up.  The background is Distress Spray Stain - Mermaid Lagoon.

I was inspired by the latest Sketch Saturday:

I was also inspired by CASology:

Everybody in my household knows that I'm a black thumb.  Today's project is the best type of plant for me💚

A cup of cheer

A quick Mother's Day card:

My cardstock colors:  Stampin' Up Crisp Cantaloupe + So Saffron.  I combined A Nice Cuppa and an older Paper Pumpkin that had the cups/succulents.  The dies are Cups + Kettles Framelits.

The green watercolor wash is ala Spectrum Aqua - Bud Green.

Coffee Chick.

Happy Easter - Happy Spring!  We're excited to have a semi full house for dinner tonight!  I have 2 cards to share with you today.  I recently received a Your Next Stamp order so I couldn't wait to ink up Coffee Chick.

My green based card was inspired by YNS owner/designer Karen.    It is a standard A2 card using Lawn Fawn Rainbow Plaid and Watercolor Wishes.    They've been teamed up with the YNS Coffee and Tea Cup Stacked die set.  The chick was colored with Zig Clean Color Markers. The purple based one is a skinny at 3.5 inches x 5.5 inches.  The Coffee Chick was colored with copics.

My cards were inspired by Freshly Made Sketches!

My Favorite Things: Let's Celebrate You!

Happy Weekend!  I have a card that has a bunch of new goodies, I finally broke into the My Favorite Things Doodled Blooms (Sold Out) Card Kit.

Honestly, I don't think I've embossed so much on one project.  I love all the added you spy the Lined Up Dots Background?  The 'vase' is from MFT Die-namics LLD Cool Cup.

The inks are from the new Distress Oxides:

The cup has Broken China that has been applied with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool.  Using a soaked paintbrush, I flicked water droplets on the cup/vase.  The blooms have been heat embossed in Hero Arts White.  I smooshed the Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade on an acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush.

I was inspired by the MFT Sketch Challenge:

My colors were inspired by The Card Concept:

I tried to capture the baby's breath by using the Lined Up Dots background.  Rather than use a mason jar as the vase, I used the Cup from Cool Cup.

Next week we're celebrating one of my best friends birthday's, this card was made especially for her.  I'm so grateful for her, she's been fighting cancer the last 2 years and is in hospice care.  We've been friends since the kids were almost babies.  We visit with her almost weekly and laugh....a lot...definitely a highlight of my week💚

Reverse Confetti - Happy Birthday To You!

Hello and Happy Friday!!!!!  This is going to be a pretty fun weekend, I'm taking a class at Impress on Saturday taught by my friend Kimberly!  Sunday is Easter at our house with both Grandma's, how lucky is my girl?  We'll be missing the boy but he'll be happily recovering from a whole week in DC.

Here's a masculine birthday card...double bonus points!

I love the combo of Stormy and Lime Green.  The Striped Frame Cover Panel is so much fun!  Do you spy So Many Stars?  I used Versamark on the stars.  The banner has been cut from the Free Spirit 6x6 Paper Pad.  The Circle Wishes Stamp Set and Coordinating Confetti Cuts was perfect for my card design.

I'm going to squirrel this away for my brother's birthday.  If you follow me on FB or IG you would have seen this photo that I posted for National Sibling Day:

LOL...I love this pic!  Sorry, getting back to crafty stuff!
